Retypar (alpha) is an excellent free image to text conversion software for Windows Vista. It can easily convert JPEG, BMP and other graphics files to text format, and then you can preview the image or select other options to edit before conversion. It also lets you adjust options to speed up the conversion. It works great with Microsoft Office programs as well.
Retyper can convert images from all formats. It can even be used with Mac OS X systems, if you have that installed already. The Windows version of Retyper will work with all versions of Microsoft Office applications. You can even upload your documents directly from Microsoft Word to it. This can be a handy tool when you want to have Word documents that are ready to use, but you don't have access to the Microsoft software. Also, you can upload Word documents to Reylper that are already formatted to be read by the Word applications. Once converted, you can easily convert Word documents from the Reylper text format to PDF format.
After you have converted the document to a text format, Reylper will automatically save the changes to the hard disk. All you need is to reboot your PC, and it will be ready for you to use. However, it will only work with text-format documents and with Windows versions of Microsoft Office. Before using Reylper, you should make sure that the document is in the correct format for the application. If not, Reylper may not recognize it and will not be able to convert it.
